Eco-Art Club
Our Work > Visual Arts > Eco-Art Club
The Eco-Art Club was an afterschool club with children from Hargrave Park Extended Community School from spring 2011 to spring 2012. The club was run by Project Leader Nicola Pomery with Jamie Bamber and volunteer Charlene Sandy and aimed to promote recycling through art.
Headteacher Lisa Horton said:
"Our school has looked at sustainability issues a lot over the last academic year, and the Eco-Art Club has provided an excellent creative vehicle to discuss the importance of environmental issues, such as recycling and the opportunities and possibilities that recyclable materials can offer. Their resulting art work is really impressive."
Projects:

Wall Hanging Project
From January to March 2012, children at the Eco Art Club worked on a wall hanging project, creating artworks to display around the school and in the school library.

Planters Project
Throughout the 2011 autumn term, children transformed ordinary planters into artworks using recycled materials, including old jewellery and broken crockery.

Eco-Art House Project
Throughout the 2011 spring and summer terms, children worked created artworks to be installed in the shelter in the school playground.
