Archway Open House 2009
Archway Open House took place during the Holloway Arts Festival 2009 and was a pilot for Islington Exhibits. Events included exhibitions in local shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as guided tours, talks by artists and much more.
Archway Open House 2009 saw 29 artists open their homes and studios to the public, showcasing their work and giving a series of informal talks. Local venues in the Archway, Holloway and Tufnell Park area were converted into exhibition spaces for the duration of the event, with the main focus being the Archway Island Group Show, with nine artists exhibiting at Archway Methodist Church.
The project fostered the talent of creative practitioners in the borough by providing them with an opportunity to exhibit their work while forming local networks and furthering their professional development. Participating artists exhibited work in a variety of media including painting, photography and installation.
